Simulation goal ? In this section you can set the total time of simulation as well as the number of samples you wish to take for display.
Initial conditions (SIR) ? In this section you can set the initial condition for simulations of the SIR model. Typically one sets these values as population percentages (e.g. an infected value of 0.001 corresponds to an infection of 0.1% of the population).
Initial conditions (SIR with diffusion & SIR DDFT) ? In this section you can set the initial condition for simulations of the spatially extended SIR models. Here the interpretation of the values is slightly more complicated, since S, I and R are density fields, i.e. the population ratio per unit element of the domain.
SIR - Parameters
SIR with Diffusion - Parameters ? In simplest spatial extension of the SIR model we add diffusion terms that equalizes spatial differences in the S, I and R fields respectively. The strength of this diffusion is determined by the diffusion constants in this section that have a dimension of length squared per time.
SIR DDFT - Parameters ? The parameters for the SIR DDFT model fall in two categories: The mobilities Γ scale the general strength of the additional terms of this model and thus are a measure for how strong the population is influenced by any repulsive interaction in general. The social distancing and self isolation parameters describe the strength C and inverse squared range σ of the specific form of repulsion. The strength should be negative for a repulsive interaction.
